I went to "Sushi Roku." I want to go this restaurant for a long time, but the price is really expensive, so I never has a chance to eat there. Finally, this was a good time!!!!
The lunch menu was 25 dollar. it included an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert.

The appetizer-  I had " Seared Albacore Sashimi" and my friend had " Tuna Tataki Sashimi" I like the tune more than albacore. But these two fishes were really fresh.

The main entree included " Chef's Sashimi, Mixed Tempura, Baked Cod, Renkon,  Small Sunomono, Chicken Kushlyaki, and Steam Rice" Except the chicken, I like all other items.

The dessert- I had "Mini Chocolate Volcano" and my friend had " fruit and sorbet" The mini chocolate was so so so good. I can't describe how good it was, you have to try it.... I don't know how the taste of the sorbet, but I think it probably not bad too.

Dumping House

This weekend, I ate Chinese food in Arcadia.
This restaurant was very small, but it was clean, and the decorate was not bad.
The restaurant had pretty good business at Saturday night. The restaurant was almost full.

This restaurant sells different kinds of dumplings, noodles, and soups.
I really like to eat dumpling, so I got the "Chive, Egg, Pork & shrimp dumplings". 12 dumplings in one order. In chinese it is called "three items dumpling." It was not expensive, It cost $5.95. The taste was alright.

I also got the beef roll. It was really big!  I forget how much it is. I think probably around 6 dollars. The taste was OKay! but it had too much green onion.
I don't like green onion.. maybe next time I will ask the waiter don't put the green onion in it.

I like this restaurant because it was clean and not expensive.
I probably will go again..

Little Tokyo Shabu Shabu

I thought American do not like to eat Shabu Shabu, but after I have been this shabu shabu store, I changed my mind.

This Shabu Shabu always has very good business. Whenever I went, I have to wait for at least half an hour.

This shop only has beef can choose. The beef is really fresh. They cut the beef when you order your food. The only thing that you can choose is the size of your order. ( medium/ large)

The taste is really good. My friend told me that the coffee is really good, too. I don't like to drink coffee, so I never try...

Dragon Boat Festival

Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month.
Today is the event. We usually eat "tzung Tzu" today and watch the race of the dragon boat.
My mom usually makes tzung tzu every year. It takes a lot of time to make it, and it is complicated to make it. When I was young, I always tried to help her, but I couldn't make the shape like she made.
I have long time did not celebrate the event with my family. When I was young, my family would sit in front of TV to watch the race of the dragon boat and ate tzung tzu together。
Now, since I study here, my mother usually keeps the tzung tzu for me until I go back to Taiwan during the summer.
I really miss my mother's tzung tzu now. I can't wait to go back to Taiwan...

Green Island Restaurant - Chinese food

Last week was a long weekend.
My friend invited me to eat lunch with him in a Chinese restaurant.
It is located at temple city. I never went this restaurant before.
It has very good business. I arrived the restaurant at 1:30 pm. I waited for 30 minutes to get a seat.
Before I went into the restaurant I thought it was Taiwanese food because it names "green island" which is part of Taiwan. But the food was not really Taiwanese style.
I think it might be Hong Kong style.
My friend and I did not eat much, so we only had two orders.
We had " Sizzling Prime Rib Eye Fried Rice" and " Braised Duck with Taro"

I like the fried rice. it was one of the restaurant's famous foods.
I saw most tables have this order, too.

I didn't like the duck that much because it was a little bit salty for me.
but, the taste was not bad. And it looks good.

I think I will go this restaurant again to try other dishes.

LA Prime Bona Vista Revolving Lounge

I like to see night view.
I used to go to see night view at Art Center, but after I went to the Griffith Park,
I feel the view at Art Center is not good any more.
I don't know if you have heard LA Prime Bona Vista Revolving Lounge.
Here is also a good place to see night view.
It is located at downtown LA in one of the tall buildings at the 35th floor.
Inside the lounge, the floor can rotate, so you can see the view around the build and LA.
I also like this place because they provide some special cups, which can represent CA's features.
After you finish your drink, the waiter will wash the cup for you, then you can take the cup with you. This is really sweet!!

I think I won't forget this place, and I will go there again and again.

NBC seafood restaurant - chinese food

Last weekend, Stella, our friends and I had a dinner together in a Chinese restaurant.
Before, we decided to go "boiling crab" but too many people were waiting there, so we changed the place.
Both of us like to eat seafood, so we went to a seafood restaurant. Both of us like the food there.
We ordered five dishes: lobster, seafood soup, clam, chicken with vegetable, and fried fish.

Stella's favorite food is the clam because it is spicy,

my favorite is the lobster

I think the price there is OK. The total costs 120 included tax and tip. So, I think it is cheaper than eating in an American restaurant.
