This weekend, I went to Santa Ana Zoo. It is located at city of Santa Ana. It is a small zoo. There are not so many kinds of animals. But, lots of monkeys. The admission is $7 for adult. If you are a member of the zoo, you can get into the zoo for free.
I saw a notice that those animals were given to the zoo from a research lab. They all had cancer. The lab used them to do research on drugs for cancer. I feel so sad for those animals. They might not live long….

Try Santa Barbara Zoo, you will fall in love with it. It is small and the setting is beautiful. You can see the ocean and there is a train to go around the zoo. It is the way to rest your feet after a few walks.
ReplyDeleteWhile you are in Santa Barbara, you can visit the mission, downtown Santa Barbara and the movie theater. I remembered I went to see "Lost in Translation" with Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson. I love the movie and the theater as well.
That is so sad. I hope that they at least get to have a little bit of joy now that they're not in the lab anymore.
ReplyDeleteThat IS quite sad. Then again, I'm always a little sad when I visit zoos, esp. when I see the ape exhibits. They look so much like humans! And to be cooped up like that!
ReplyDeleteWe went to the San Diego Zoo last year. There was a condor of some kind there. I was amazed at its size. Then I thought about how an animal like that really needs exercise. I wonder if zoos have some sort of program to give animals enough exercise.
My parents have a neighbor with bird dogs. He puts them on the treadmill. Imagine an elephant on a treadmill!
